Several technologies can be used for molecular binding studies — ELISA, QCM and ITC — but few match the advantages of SPR: high sensitivity, label-free detection, real-time monitoring, low sample consumption, quantitative evaluation and determination of kinetic rate constants. SPR is also easy to perform and can be highly cost-effective.
